Ask the Expert: Tangled Harness? |
|
Q: I'm a welder and the harness I'm using gets all tangled up. Does Miller have harnesses that are tangle-free?
A: Unfortunately, all safety harnesses are designed and constructed with webbing that gets tangled easily. Following the proper procedure for donning a harness will help alleviate this problem.
Many of the latest Miller brand harnesses feature tangle-free enhancements such as color-coded leg straps, or quick-connect buckles for easier donning.

What's the Life Expectancy of a Miller Brand Harness and Lanyard? |
|
As a general guideline, the position of Sperian Fall Protection, Inc. is to use a 5-year life expectancy from date of first use on all Miller harnesses and lanyards. This should not be used in lieu of the inspection and maintenance criteria outlined in the instructions that accompany each unit. This policy only applies to product exhibiting no visual damage and that has not been exposed to chemicals, abnormal heat, or excessive ultraviolet light. It is possible that the equipment will last longer, depending on the care, maintenance, storage and use of the equipment.
