Ask the Expert: Inspect and Clean PPE?

Q: How do you properly inspect and clean personal protective equipment (PPE) so that the service life is extended?

A: To maintain proper service life and high performance, fall protection products (anchorage connectors, body wear and connecting devices) must be inspected regularly.

Basic care of all safety equipment will prolong the durable life of the unit and will contribute toward the performance of its vital safety function. Proper storage and maintenance after use are as important as cleansing the equipment of dirt, corrosives or contaminants. Storage areas should be clean, dry and free of exposure to fumes or corrosive elements.

NEW! Permanent or Temporary Solutions for Roof Safety!

Introducing the new Miller Fusion™ Roof Anchor Post, a permanent or temporary solution for roof safety!

With a variety of models available, the versatile, single-point anchor adapts to a wide range of roof designs including standing seam, membrane, built-up, metal sheathing, concrete and wood. The innovative base plate is designed for quick set-up, not requiring roof penetration to sub-surface rafters or trusses.

In the event of a fall, the post orients in the direction of the force, the built-in energy-absorbing component activates and the base remains securely attached to the roof surface.
