Fall protection has developed over the years into a complex field of safety engineering; the subject matter of this four-day comprehensive course is complex and dynamic and gives the participants knowledge in very specific areas. We suggest that those attending have had other courses or a basic knowledge of fall protection principles and terminology. Training techniques / adult learning is a key focus of this training course.
Note: An additional eight-hour "Inspection" course is available.

Day One:
- Introduction and Orientation
- Pre-test (baseline of current level of knowledge)
- Video — “Gravity Kills” (Overview of the Principles of Fall Protection)
- The Fundamentals of Fall Protection (Five Modules)
– Why do we need Fall Protection
– “3 Key Steps” to Fall Protection
– Systems Specifications
– ABC’s of a Personal Fall Arrest System (hands on)
– Critical Concepts of Fall Protection
Day Two:
- Review of day one
- Plant Tour (includes manufacturing and testing facilities)
- Anchor points, selection, evaluation and practical applications
- Overview of Horizontal Systems and unique applications
- Basic Rescue Preparedness
Day Three:
- Equipment Inspection Exercise
- Review of Applicable OSHA Legislation
- Equipment Hazard Alerts
Day Four:
- Hazard Recognition Exercise
- Determine solutions for identified fall hazards in specific situations
- Final Review
- Final Exam
- Student Presentation

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Supervisory Personnel, Safety Managers, Foremen, Crew Chiefs and Job Site Superintendents who are responsible for providing fall protection training. We suggest that those attending have had other courses or a basic knowledge of fall protection principles and terminology.
