OSSA Train the Trainer

OSSA FALL PROTECTION TRAIN THE TRAINER

This course is designed for instructors required to provide fall protection training and is a combination of Qualified Person Fall Protection, Qualified Inspector of Fall Protection Equipment and Fall Protection Train the Trainer. Instructors will be taught a general understanding of the fundamentals of fall protection; regulations that apply to fall protection; methods of eliminating fall hazards; equipment specifications, care, use, limitations and inspection; and fall protection planning requirements and importance. Instructing is a unique skill set and requires confidence, organization, subject knowledge and content familiarization. This course provides insight on how adults learn, process and use information through instructor lead presentations, group activities, participant presentations and knowledge verification. Participants will be provided with tools as an instructor to deliver course materials through a combination of Train the Trainer, instructor guides, co-teach and observation sessions.

OSSA ELEVEATED WORK PLATFORM TRAIN THE TRAINER

This course is designed for instructors required to provide elevated work platform training and includes subject matters covered in OSSA Fall Protection. Instructors will be taught the theory behind the legislative standards, preoperative checks, machine selection and safe operation of Elevated Work Platform (EWP) equipment. Through a combination of lectures and practical exercises, instructors are exposed to best practices on the use, limitations, care and maintenance of EWPs. This course includes regulatory and provincial standards. Instructing is a unique skill set and requires confidence, organization, subject knowledge and content familiarization. This course provides insight on how adults learn, process and use information through instructor lead presentations, group activities, participant presentations and knowledge verification. Participants will be provided with tools as an instructor to deliver course materials through a combination of Train the Trainer, instructor guides, co-teach and observation sessions.

OSSA CONFINED SPACE ENTRY AND MONITOR TRAIN THE TRAINER

This course is designed for instructors who are required to provide confined space entry and monitor training. Instructors will be trained to recognize the risks and hazards associated with confined spaces and the methods of controlling them. Additionally, classification of confined space, legislation, standards and code of practice will also be learned. Instructing is a unique skill set and requires confidence, organization, subject knowledge and content familiarization. This course provides insight on how adults learn, process and use information through instructor lead presentations, group activities, participant presentations and knowledge verification. Participants will be provided with tools as an instructor to deliver course materials through a combination of Train the Trainer, instructor guides, co-teach and observation sessions.

OSSA FIRE WATCH TRAIN THE TRAINER

This course is designed for instructors required to provide fire watch training and includes knowledge and proficiency in the classification and identification of types of fires and extinguishers. Instructors will be required to demonstrate their knowledge of the care, use and limitations of a fire extinguisher. Through a combination of lectures and practical exercises, instructors are exposed to best practices, regulations and standards, including Alberta Occupational Health and Safety, Alberta Fire Code and National Fire Protection Agency. Instructing is a unique skill set and requires confidence, organization, subject knowledge and content familiarization. This course provides insight on how adults learn, process and use information through instructor lead presentations, group activities, participant presentations and knowledge verification. Participants will be provided with tools as an instructor to deliver course materials through a combination of Train the Trainer, instructor guides, co-teach and observation sessions.
